David Andersen

Engineer, Studio Manager

David began playing bass in garage bands at the age of 12. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he spent the next few years touring and recording with various acts around the United States before shifting his focus solely toward studio production. He spent the next few years working as an independent recording engineer while simultaneously acting as the sole assistant to legendary engineer and producer, Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Michael Jackson) at Waterfront Studios in New York, where he gained an extensive knowledge of classic analog recording techniques as well as their practical application to modern productions. David is now serving as an engineer at Sound City, as well as overseeing all day-to-day operations at the studio.

David has had the distinct pleasure of working with such artists as: Esperanza Spalding, Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), Garth Hudson (The Band), Suzanne Vega, Darryl Jenifer (Bad Brains), Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon), Gerry Leonard (David Bowie), Stephin Merritt (The Magnetic Fields), Gabriel Garzón-Montano, Nico Segal (Chance the Rapper, The Social Experiment), Scott Sharrard (Gregg Allman Band), Krewella, Twitching Tongues (Metal Blade Records), among many others.


Gavin Paddock


Gavin is a versatile producer, engineer and mixer, having made records at Sound City for over 5 years. Gavin has worked with a wide variety of artists including  Dave Grohl, Lenny Kravitz, Gotye, The Lumineers, Booker T. Jones, DREAMERS, James Supercave, ZZ Ward, Nathaniel Rateliff, Courtney Marie Andrews, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Airpark, Miike Snow, Joywave, Nick Waterhouse, Nico Yaryan, Allah-Las, From Indian Lakes, Corey Harper, Oberhofer, The Young Wild, Needtobreathe, and many others. He has also recorded sample libraries for Roland, Addictive Drums and Synthogy's Ivory.
